Each week I have been elaborating on my 8-A System for building your
self esteem.
This week's newsletter deals with the use of AFFIRMATIONS as
a way to build your self esteem.

What is an AFFIRMATION? An AFFIRMATION is a strong, positive statement that something is already
so!
Using AFFIRMATIONS to attract what you want into your life is a skill that can be learned and practiced; it is a purposeful method used to replace our inner negative self-talk with inner positive self-talk. By verbalizing an affirmation we are creating a mental gap which we are naturally drawn to close. Practiced regularly, an affirmation is a powerful technique that can transform our attitudes and thus create what we want for ourselves. Shakti Gawain, an expert in the use of affirmations and creative visualizations,
says "everything you give language to will manifest itself...what you focus
on is what you attract" Affirmations are not lying to oneself; you are
acknowledging the fact that everything is created first on the mental plane
before it can manifest in objective reality.
TOP TEN TIPS to USE AFFIRMATIONS in order to CREATE the LIFE YOU WANT: 1. Always phrase affirmations in the first person and in the
present tense, as if it already exists.
2. Always phrase affirmations in the positive - Affirm what you
DO want not what you DON'T want.
3. Keep affirmations short and simple; be precise and specific.
4. State affirmations with feeling...
5. Create a feeling of belief that your affirmation IS true;
suspend doubts/eliminate negative thoughts. Have patience and trust
in the process.
6. Visualize your affirmations as you make these positive statements.
7. Place yourself in a receptive state of mind when you state
your affirmations.
8. Write down your affirmations.
9. Tape your affirmations onto a recorder and listen to them repeatedly...while you are working out...in the car...at home...taking a walk... 10. Tell others your affirmations...People see you as you present
yourself.
