Reader FEEDBACK: I really appreciate all the responses I am getting from my readers!

<Enjoyed your issue (#47 on Making a Difference). A favorite quote in the same vein is:
I long to accomplish great and noble deeds but I know the task is to do small
deeds as if they were great and noble. Helen Keller
One of the hardest things for me to learn has been to do the task that is
before me with grace rather than judging whether it is "worthy" enough. That
IS the great mystery; we can never know the real effect of our acts; our
simplest act might make the biggest difference, one we may never know,
impacting far beyond our more glorious efforts.
Your newsletter always holds special  treats and I enjoy it. This fall I am leaving for Nepal, Tibet, and
Thailand--I attribute my "going for it" on my GREAT ADVENTURE partly to your
"risk" teleclass when I first connected with you, so you never know what
fruit your seeds will yield--THANKS!)>
Judy G.

<Laurie – This was a really special issue (#46 on ASKING) – thanks for the inspiration!> Mary Beth

<good one. Should point out that you made a big difference in my life and
those that I have touched in suggesting/persuading me to go for my Master's
in Cambridge. That led to second one at SDSU, and Ph.D. and teaching, etc.>

<Hi Laurie--
Thanks for yet another perfectly-timed newsletter! Very inspiring and
uplifting! I am looking for ways to be a superhero in my everyday life.
Thanks! >
Margie

<Hi Laurie,
A good newsletter, but I just want to say one thing. The hundredth monkey story is just a myth.
There is NO scientific record about it. The story was actually invented, as far as I know,
in the US in 70's to support paranormal claims.  The washing behavior among the monkeys
had never jumped the sea; but was transferred by scientists. Also the older monkeys had never learnt
to wash potatoes.  Skeptical Inquire magazine (not National inquire!) studied about this story;
and found, if I remember correctly, no one who used this story ever read the original study
published in Japan. This story was never told in Japan, at least when I lived in Japan.
I saw TV program about it when I was a child, but it did not mention about the habit jumping
over the sea. If you see this type of story, please check the original literature>.
Takashi (PhD, Astrophysicist)

<One of the things Julia Butterfly Hill said in a lecture she gave a UT last semester is (this is not a complete - direct quote - but it was something like this) "when we get upset or angry about an issue, an injustice, instead of blamming or laying the guilt on someone else - JBH said when she was up in the tree she found herself pointing her fingers at the loggers - the lumber company staff - this was all their fault - what she realized over time was everytime we point our fingers at someone there are three fingers pointing back at us. (try it point your finger at something - your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th finger are pointing at you) There are always three things we can do to make a difference - instead of placing the blame on everyone else." - JBH
I like to say -  "Be pro-active and  - don't get mad, get busy." -
Be a superhero (we are all superheroes.)>
