your life in order to have time to do what you love.

Topic: REDUCING TOLERATIONS

What's draining you?  TOLERATIONS!
Tolerations are events, people, situations you put up with
that drain your energy...that keep you from being yourself and
enjoying life to the fullest.  Tolerations are like holes in
your personal success cup...no matter how much you put into the
cup, the toleration-hole lets it all drain out.  Tolerations
are found in all aspects of our life: home/office, relationships/family,
clients/customers, pets, car/appliances/equipment,
body/appearance....and much much more.

What are YOUR tolerations?  You should be able to come up
with a list of ten easily...actually you probably have about
100 tolerations at the present time.  Once you start counting,
the list just seems to keep growing.

The first step in reducing your tolerations is to recognize
WHAT you are tolerating: a torn
curtain or shirt? a dirty car or house? a messy closet or desk?
an unfinished letter or conversation? a chronically-late friend?
First identify, then ZAP those tolerations!

The benefits of reducing or eliminating tolerations are
many: you will feel freer; you will have more energy; you will
become more creative; you'll attract better oportunities; you'll
strengthen yourself; you'll enjoy life more.  You will be plugging
those holes in your personal success cup so that you can be more
successful in whatever you do!

TOP TEN WAYS TO REDUCE or ELIMINATE TOLERATIONS

1. Make a list of all your tolerations; keep adding to and subtracting
from this list.

2. Allot time: give yourself an hour to get done as many tolerations
as possible.

3. Organize your tolerations in time groups.  In other words,
list all your 15-minute or less tolerations in one area, 30-minute
tolerations in another, day-long in another, and so on. The
next time you have 15 minutes (or 30 or ?) you can pick from
that list.

4. Have a toleration-free work day: go for reducing 50 or more
tolerations in one day!

5. Work with others, in person or by phone, to reduce your tolerations.
Check in once or twice with each other during the time allotted
in order to be accountable; make a game of zapping those tolerations!

6. Involve your family and friends: educate them about tolerations
so that they become your partners and supporters.

7. Find ways to systematize, organize, prioritize..so that you
put up with less and tolerations naturally fade away.

8. Find other people to eliminate your tolerations: Hire a Virtual
Assistant (see newsletter #38)...or a Professional Organizer...or
make a barter arrangement with a friend (s/he eliminates some
tolerations you hate doing (eg. washing your car) while you eliminate
some of their tolerations that you don't mind doing (eg. ironing)

9. Don't delay!  When you notice something will become a toleration..take
care of it right away! (eg. a missing button, a request for something...)

10. Hire a coach to encourage and support you...and hold you
accountable... in reducing and eliminating your tolerations.
You will have more time to do what you love!

*Do you have any good suggestions for reducing or eliminating
tolerations?  I (and my readers) would love to hear from you!
